Virtual Drops™

Virtual Drops™ combine the practical use of physical backings plus the ability to seamlessly add motion in post with supplied VFX plates that match the parallax of the backing.

As awe-inspiring as they are, digital volumes are far outside the budget for most productions. Not only is the physical volume expensive to build/operate, but the virtual reality needs to be be constructed from scratch. On the flip side, green screens can appear to be cost effective until you get to post-production. Issues arising from color casts on set, backgrounds dropping into green reflections and finer details getting lost in the plate all cause headaches in editing, the cost of which is impossible to predict or control. This is where our Virtual Drops™ come into action.

By having a physical drop on set, color casts, reflections, and losing finer details are no longer as issue. Then, by having video plates captured from the same vantage as the drop, adding motion becomes more straightforward with marching parallax.
