Copyright, Ownership & Licensing

Unless otherwise negotiated upon, all artwork created by Precision Backdrops, whether for use in rental or custom backings, is owned by Precision Backdrops. Productions will be licensed the usage of our artwork for the current show season and/or the feature film being produced.

Custom Backings

Photo-Shoot Reservations

Reservations for custom photography will be held for 48 hours. Afterwards, a P.O. and confirmation of 50% retainer must be sent to maintain hold.

Cancellations

Cancellation fees are based upon the stage the backing production is in when cancelled. No cancellation fee will be charge if cancelled 10 days prior to the photo-shoot. If cancelled within 10 days of the photo-shoot, all photography fees will be charged. If cancelled after the photography has been captured but before printing has begun, 50% of the total will be charged. If cancelled after printing has begun, 100% of the total will be charged.

Production Holds & Storage

Any production that commissions a custom backing can have the option of holding onto the backing for the entire run of the show to decrease shipping & rigging costs and wear & tear on the backing. Production must first notify us if they plan on holding and storing the backing at their location. Licensing/rental fees will be incurred for additional seasons regardless.

Cropping & Scale

It is the production’s responsibility to ensure the crop and scale of the image works prior to printing the backing. Any reprints necessary due to mistakes made in cropping and scale will be charged at full printing fees.

Rental Backings

Reservations

Backings can be placed on hold at no charge to the production and maintained for 48 hours. To continue hold beyond 48 hours, a P.O. must be issued.

Rental Pricing

Pricing for rentals is base upon the size of the backing, length of use, shipping costs, production location and whether or not the backing must be (re)printed. Minimum rental period is 10 production days. Discounts are provided on extended rental periods. For any required printing, or reprinting, the production is responsible for ensuring the crop and scale is correct.

Late Returns


Production is responsible for returning the backing by agreed upon date. Late fees will be charged on a per diem basis if the backing does not arrive back by agreed upon date.

Cancellation Fees


There are no cancellation fees for rentals if the rental is cancelled prior to shipping. Shipping costs and a restocking fee will be charged if cancelled after the backing is shipped.

Payments


Payments are accepted via bank transfers or corporate checks. 50% retainer is required for all custom backings.
